![]() ![]() ![]() Pine and resin are present with some grapefruit and orange, bitterness is fairly well balanced by the malty sweetness, but the malty sweetness is a bit overwhelming making me think this beer is less than fresh.į: This IPA is almost chewy and is just very full and a bit too much for my liking. T: Bitter hops flare up in the beginning and are a bit overwhelming with little to no support from everything else. Nose is pleasant but nothing to write home about Definite dank smell along with some pine and resin that are present with the caramel hops. Other citrus notes of grapefruit and orange rind are present, but certainly more bitter than juicy and sweet. S: Complex nose with notes of melon and tangerine. Translucent with some sediment floating at the bottom of the glass, but not completely opaque like some of the haze bombs. Ī: Pours a golden orang color with roughly two fingers of white foam, nice lacing as the foam begins to dissipate. Jul 18, 2021Įnjoyed in a 16oz snifter on 7/28/21, canned on. For what they were aiming for, I suppose they got it right, however, not for me. I don’t like lactose in IPA and this one is my fault for not reading the info on the can before buying it. Too sweet overall with a boozy finish that makes this a bit of a chore to drink. The carbonation was moderate to easy going. Nevertheless, this doesn’t quite feel like enough to counteract the cloying lactose sweetness.įull bodied with a frothy, soft and creamy mouthfeel. Tempered somewhat by a resiny bitterness as well as grassy and piney flavors. Very sweet with milky lactose creaminess and sweet alcohol spices. Loads of juicy and big fruity hops flavors evoking notes of mango, papaya, passion fruit and guava. And then there is that lactose aroma, projecting its milky sweetness on the nose. Juicy aromas of tropical fruit, including mango, papaya, guava and passion fruit amidst a malt base that evokes honey and caramel. A thumb length creamy head shows good retention and lacing. But I can't fault them for me not reading the can! Pretty great beer all around. I'm certainly not! I'd prefer it without the lactose. O - Man the flavor on this is insane if you are looking for a orange juice bomb that's plenty bitter but also has a sweet and creamy mouthful. So I think this is what they were going for. ![]() Then I read the label and saw they added lactose, hence the name of the beer. First I was thinking this is leaving a thick and syrupy aftertaste that's a little too much for me. On the sweet side and the bittering hops are just barely enough to balance it. M - This is thick and syrupy, slow sipping. The brew finishes with tons of bittering hop flavor, albeit a little sweet. The malt character stacks up well with a sweet backbone to carry the hops on. Along with the citrus flavor is a good amount of traditional hop flavors of pine, dank, resin etc. Following through on the aroma with notes of orange as well as bitter orange peel. Just in your face sweet and sticky orangey citrus. S - Nose from the can was super dank and resinous, however upon pouring the juicy hops character took center stage. ![]() There was some sediment that got mixed up and is just sort of floating, makes it look thick. Head was thin one finger and dissipated quickly. A - Poured a slightly hazy, translucent orange color. ![]()
